There are two doors in the room, one of which leads out into the garden, where children can play two games. For example, clicking below the sink has a plumber pop out and say hello. Most of them lead to activities, but some of them simply show funny and amusing things. The classroom is big and bright, and filled with colorful animations that kids can click on. He will help guide children through most of the activities in the program, or, if you click his ears, he will present them with a randomly chosen activity to perform.
Since some children may not know how yet, a parent or older brother/sister should probably stand by to help. A bluebird prompts them to click on the paper, and then type in their name. Kids are also told that when they are ready to begin, they should click on the schoolhouse door.ĭoing so brings up a larger image of the door, which has a piece of paper taped to it. Even here, there are several areas that, when clicked on, do amusing things. Students will construct sentences, tell time, and identify shapes to complete a pirate maze, solve word puzzles to get to the top of a building, count and load the correct number of people into a rocket, use colorful singing marbles to complete patterns to unlock a door, and much more. There are fewer special features for teachers, which may lead you to think these editions are less educational, but the games are just as high-quality and educational as you've come to expect from Reader Rabbit software. There are still story lines to follow, like helping Reader Rabbit and Sam figure out why the weather has been acting up or escape from Balloon Town, but the storyline isn't as notable as those in other editions. Another difference is that these versions have more "mini-games" instead of one long storyline game that builds upon itself. Unlike the personalized versions, you're not able to customize workbooks or rewards to print off, but there are still a few printable activities on each CD-ROM. The games are still colorful and fun with auto-adjusting skill levels and progress tracking reports. These fun CD-ROMs feature the same lovable Reader Rabbit as the other editions we carry (though both he and Sam the Lion look younger in these versions), and the play is very similar see description for Reader Rabbit Personalized Cross-Curricular CD-ROMs.
